Alaska Energy Authority's (AEA) Power Cost Equalization (PCE) data from 2001 through 2013

This data was made as part of the Alaska Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Northern Test Case. This data can be used to examine consumption and expenditures of energy and fuel by communities in Alaska.

The goal of Alaska Energy Authority's (AEA) Power Cost Equalization program is to provide economic assistance to customers in rural areas of Alaska where the kilowatt-hour charge for electricity can be considerably higher than the charge in more urban areas of the state. This dataset contains information reported monthly to AEA by participating utilities. The data available here (AEDG) was reviewed and cleaned for to meet AEDG data quality standards. Since some utilities may not report every month of the year, missing data are not uncommon. Detailed information about the data cleaning methodology is provided in the document: https://akenergygateway.alaska.edu/static/public/documents/PCE_DataCleaningImputation_MethodologyNotes_09172014.pdf
