This anthropometric survey is part of a five-year, four-nation multidisciplinary study of circumpolar peoples with special emphasis on the Eskimo. The principal aim of this five-year program is to elucidate the biological and behavioral processes responsible for the successful adaptation of approximately 70,000 Eskimos in an arctic environment.
