Using an Alaska EPSCoR Native Engagement Grant, the Kenaitze Indian Tribe built a "Tribal Decision Library" at their offices in Kenai. The library is a storehouse of both scientific data and traditional knowledge sources, such as Dena’ina dictionaries; books, reports, public notices, and data about invasive species, coastal erosion, forest fires, air quality, water quality, and salmon populations; and maps of oil and gas development, mining projects, habitat areas, traditional hunting, place names, and local recycling. It's available for use by more than 4,500 members of the tribe.
