Trophy Cutthroat Trout Lakes

This dataset contains trophy cutthroat trout lakes within Southeast Alaska that have produced cutthroat trout that qualified for entry in the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Sport Fish Division (ADF-DSF) Trophy Fish Program. Anglers in a 1993 survey said that the opportunity to catch trophy-size cutthroat trout is important to them, and ADF's research shows that cutthroat don’t reach the 3-pound trophy size for about 12 years. In total there are thirteen lakes in Southeast Alaska classified as Trophy Lakes that are known to have produced cutthroat trout > 3 pounds (20 inches). Twelve of these lakes are managed with a minimum size limit of twenty-five inches, with only 1 per day/1 in possession and no bait allowed; Turner Lake is managed as a cath-and-release only lake with no bait allowed.
