Southcentral Demographics and Values Survey (2014)

The Southcentral Demographics and Values Survey is a survey of Kenai Peninsula Residents for understanding community resources, ties to land and the outdoors, and potential responses to change circulated in community residents in early 2014. The survey is part of a study conducted by Alaska EPSCoR - Southcentral Test Case and the University of Alaska Anchorage about how communities see and might respond to changes on the Kenai Peninsula. Participation was completely voluntary. The summarized results from the study will provide an understanding of how residents use and value local resources such as land, water, social ties, and information. Results will be used with local residents and community groups to assist in the identification of appropriate ways to respond to any changes. Status update (March 2015): All the survey data have been received and entered into our database! Thanks to the tireless efforts of our undergraduate interns, we have also finalized entry of the mapping data. This means summarized data have begun to be used in educational materials and in analysis. A survey results portal is under construction to be open to the public soon!
