Yellow-cedar ecology, conservation, and management

Focus is on the cause and consequences of yellow-cedar decline in Alaska and British Columbia. We are developing a conservation strategy based on climate vulnerabilities and other niche factors of yellow-cedar. A central approach is to establish current and cedar future habitat based on forest decline and climate risk factors. Related studies include cedar physiology, micro and macro climate, soils and hydrology, biogeochemstry, post-decline succession, cedar genetics, wood properties of dead trees, and a number of regeneration trials
